Swan upping

THE annual swan upping ceremony will be held on the River Thames next week.

Officials acting for the Queen will take to the water from Monday to count the number of mute swans and cygnets.

On Wednesday morning, the swan uppers will pass through Hurley and Hambleden locks, then Henley Bridge, Marsh Lock and Shiplake Lock in the afternoon, and finish the day at Sonning.
