HENLEY Rowing Club juniors travelled upriver on Sunday to compete in one of the last head races of the season.
At a busy Abingdon Spring Head, the juniors section of J13 and J14 crews battled against strong blustery gusts to race along the meandering 2,000m course.
In the J13 boys-coxed quad, Connor Brown, Jake Collins, Oliver Taylor, Jack Spiers and cox Joe Edwards beat crews from Bishop Vesey Grammar School and Falcon Rowing Club by some margin.
It was a first win for these boys in a style that bodes well for the future.
The J13 girls’ crew of Livvy Peterson, Jessica Arlett, Felicity Parfitt, Sophia Hann and cox Georgia Brown rowed in the J14 division owing to no other J13s entered and performed well, coming fifth overall, beating three J14 crews in the process.
