Henley sculler Redman impresses at GB trials
HENLEY Rowing Club’s Leon Redman attended the GB team junior trials on Sunday at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.

In the initial ranking trial, the Henley sculler was ranked 22nd, but in the side-by-side racing, his competitiveness shone through and he raced to third position in the C final, giving him a top 15 position overall.

Redman’s ambition of a call up to the GB junior squad will face a final hurdle in July when the final selections are made.

Club captain Nick Mead said: “We’re delighted to see yet another dedicated Henley junior rower perform well in the GB selection process.

“We have a proud history of developing junior talent and it would be wonderful to see Leon achieve his aim of representing his country in the club’s 175th anniversary year.”
