HENLEY Rowing Club’s juniors reinforced their status as one of the top clubs in the country with a series of nine commanding performances at the regional trials on Saturday.
The juniors were trialling to represent the Upper Thames region at the forthcoming British Rowing Junior Inter-Regional Regatta at the end of April at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham.
In time trials over a 1,500 metre course at Dorney Lake, the Henley contingent raced across all boat classes and ages in both junior men’s and women’s events.
The Henley junior women excelled in the trials with six boat wins from 12 events, taking 33 seats from the 43 on offer. The junior men won in three events, demonstrating their improving form as the season develops.
Based on provisional results the following Henley crews have been selected to represent the Upper Thames region: WJ14 coxed quad, J14 double, WJ15 coxed quad, WJ15 coxed four, J15 single, WJ16 quad, WJ16 coxed four, WJ16 eight and J16 quad.
