Cox steers through story of British rowing blazer

A COX who won at Henley Royal Regatta for the first time last year has written a book about rowing blazers.

Jack Carlson was part of a Taurus Boat Club four who took home the Britannia Challenge Cup after defeating Union Boat Club by a length.

The 26-year-old American first competed at Henley in 2004 and says this initial visit sparked a fascination with British rowing traditions.

His 256-page hardback volume, simply entitled Rowing Blazers, tells the story of the jackets, ties and insignia of more than 100 clubs worldwide.

Most are British and they include Henley’s Leander Club and Remenham Club, Shiplake College Boat Club and The Oratory School Boat Club.
