AT first glance, the physical difference between Chris Mitchell and Zoe Thomas couldn’t be more striking.
While he is 6ft 5in and weighs 87kg (13st 7lb), she is almost half his weight at 46kg (7st 2lb) and 13in shorter.
However, they are both part of the Henley Rowing Club coxed four competing at this year’s royal regatta.
Mr Mitchell, 24, from Maidenhead, is one of the rowers while 20-year-old Miss Thomas, of Hart Street, Henley, is the cox. They are competing in the Britannia Challenge Cup alongside Richard Moody and Andy Pettican, both 26, and Stan Admiraal, 43.
It is the first time either Mr Mitchell or Miss Thomas has entered the regatta and they have been training on the water for 90 minutes at a time on at least five or six days a week. Each member of the crew also trains individually.
