Henley athletes help region gain success

HENLEY Rowing Club athletes, representing the Thames Upper Region in the Junior Inter Regional Regatta winning, won two golds and

HENLEY Rowing Club athletes, representing the Thames Upper Region in the Junior Inter Regional Regatta winning, won two golds and one silver to help the region win the Victor Ludorum.

Henley provided four crews towards the Thames Upriver region at the regatta held at Nottingham last weekend raced in windy and occasionally squally conditions.

Contributing to the region’s Victor Ludorum success over the other 11 countrywide regional opponents gold medals were secured by both the J15 boys’ quad of Ricky Hart, Alex Meyer, Kane Harry, Farley Alisdair Roy and cox Christy Stephens and the J15 girls of Lauren Edwards, Ellie Thompson, Maddie Orr, Hattie Orr and cox Emma Lister. Silver medal success was achieved by the J14 double of Tom Frost and Charlie Rollet Manus, whilst the J14 girls’ quad of Farah Madzar, Lily Stimpson, Maisie Turner, Anna Roe and cox Beccy Lister were edged out of the medals with four crews separated by 1.7 seconds.
