LEANDER athlete Seb Devereux, one of the rising stars of British sculling, won another gold last weekend at the National Schools Regatta in Nottingham.
In the championship single sculls he led from start to finish, to add another trophy to his burgeoning collection.
Devereux is a former member of Marlow RC, and was a losing finalist in last year’s Fawley Challenge Cup at Henley. A previous gold medallist at the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships, he was a member of the GB eight which reached the final of the World Junior Championships last year in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Now tutored at Leander by talent identification coach Livinia Cowell-Sherriff he won the junior division at the Scullers Head last winter.
Devereux is currently completing the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) at The Henley College as part of the college’s new partnership with Leander.
Leander’s other finallist in Nottingham was Harry Uglow, who finished fourth in the J16 single sculls.
