Upper Thames masters D triumph

FOLLOWING wins at the veteran fours head and Wallingford head, an Upper Thames Masters D crew triumphed at Quintin Head in London last Saturday.

FOLLOWING wins at the veteran fours head and Wallingford head, an Upper Thames Masters D crew triumphed at Quintin Head in London last Saturday.

The crew of Mark Shimmin, Graham Lloyd, Nick French, Gareth Morris, John Ewans, Alex Jessel, Zad Rogers and Peter Jacobs, coxed by Brendan Desmond, finished 46th out of 232 crews overall and won their category by 25 seconds. In the same age category the Upper Thames masters women won their event by 25 seconds, beating the women’s club crew in the process. Meanwhile Upper Thames entered two intermediate 1 and one elite men’s crews and they finished seventh, ninth and 17th overall. A young Upper Thames women’s crew finished sixth out of 23 intermediate 3 entries.
