Entries open for two races

TWO charity 10km races are to be held in Goring and Woodcote early next year.

TWO charity 10km races are to be held in Goring and Woodcote early next year.

Goring, Woodcote and District Lions Club will hold its 30th annual run in Woodcote on January 5.

There will be a trophy for the overall winner and for the first male and female to finish in each of four age groups. All finishers will receive a medal.

The race is open to anyone aged 15 or over. Entry is £15 in advance (£13 for running club members) or £17 on the day.

Proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Lions are looking for up to 50 volunteers to help run the event. To volunteer or to enter, visit www.lions-gwd.org.uk or call 0845 833 9837.

The Goring 10km race in aid of the village primary school will take place on March 16, starting from Storton Lodge in Icknield Road and finishing behind the school in Boudillon Field.

There are 1,200 places available for the race. It costs £16 to enter or £14 for running club members. Register at www.goring10k.co.uk
