A GIRL has won a competition to design a poster for this year’s Wargrave 10km race.

A GIRL has won a competition to design a poster for this year’s Wargrave 10km race.

Amelia Walsh, nine, who goes to Robert Piggott Junior School in School Lane, Wargrave drew three runners wearing medals at the finish line.

The poster will be put up around the village ahead of the 33rd annual race on Sunday, June 14.

Entries are still open for the race, which is organised by Wargrave Runners and will be part of the village’s biennial festival.

Competitors will set off from the recreation ground at 10am and run through Cockpole Green and Crazies Hill before finishing back at the field off Recreation Road.



There will also be a mile-long children’s fun run at 9am.

Entry costs £17 or £15 for members of Wargrave Runners and under-18s. Entries on the day will cost £20.

More than 500 runners took part in last year’s race, which raised £4,000 for local charities.
