A SOCIAL housing site in Shiplake is to be redeveloped.
Soha Housing has been given planning permission to demolish Sidney Harrison House in Mill Road.
The four bungalows and 14 flats will be replaced by four one-bedroom flats, eight two-bedroom flats and four five-bedroom houses.
The flats will be in one block and will be used as social housing aimed at the over-55s. There will also be communal space. The houses would be sold privately.
The main access to the site from Mill Road will remain.
South Oxfordshire District Council has placed a number of planning conditions on the development with work limited to 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays to reduce the impact on roads in the village.
Soha announced in October 2014 that Sidney Harrison House would close.
