Oratory teams shoot to success at South East meeting

THE Oratory Shooting team had success at the South East Cadet Skill At Arms meeting held at Pirbright ranges in Surrey.

The Woodcote school entered two teams, the A team captained by Sgt Yew Wen Thorne comprised of Cpl Tom Shaw, Cpl Charlie Dart and Sgt Somerset Maitland Bondonneau, the B team captained by RQMS George Hooley and comprised of Cpl Oscar Clark, Cpl Toby Nicholls, and Cpl Archie Sykes.

Both teams shot well, with the A team winning one match and coming second in the other two to the B team who came second to the A team win.

The winning margin in the A team enabled them to win the best CCF team overall and the best cadet team at the meeting with the B team taking the runners up spot in both.

In the Falling Plates Competition, both teams were knocked out in the semi-final with the A team winning the third place run off.
