SONNING Common Parish Council is organising mini-buses to take residents to a meeting to oppose plans for 95 homes in the village.
It wants people to get in touch if they need help with travelling to Didcot on Wednesday evening for the meeting of South Oxfordshire District Council’s planning committee.
Councillors will be considering an application by Gallagher Estates to develop land off Kennylands Road which is earmarked for only 26 homes in the village’s neighbourhood plan.
Villagers are being encouraged to attend the meeting to show the strength of opposition.
Parish councillor Tom Fort said: “We are looking to send a considerable number of protestors. It’s designed to alert members of the planning committee to where their real duty lies.
“The recommendation of the officers looks to be approval and they will give their feeble reasons for this.”
Cllr Fort, district councillor Paul Harrison and resident Diana Pearman, of Kennylands Road, will all speak at the meeting.
