Pre-school play equipment damaged by storm is replaced

A NEW playhouse has been installed at Sonning Common Pre-school after the old one was damaged in a storm.

Parents built and painted the equipment for the children at the Grove Road pre-school. There is also a new stage area for singing and dancing and a play centre with slides and a climbing wall.

The equipment was paid for by fund-raising events and a £4,500 grant from Oxfordshire County Council.

Clare Saunders, pre-school manager, said: “What a fantastic achievement. We are focusing this year on enhancing our outdoor environment and this is the start of exciting things to come.”

Claire Hutchins, who chairs the pre-school committee, said: “We are very grateful to all those who made this happen.”
