Helpers thanked for making school fete a success

A SUMMER fete at Sonning Common Primary School raised funds for a new multi-use games area.

Children, parents and staff enjoyed games and visited stalls at the Grove Road school on Saturday.

One of the more unusual attractions was a reptile tent where children could hold animals including royal pythons. There was a circus skills arena, face-painting, a beat the goalie game, Maypole dancing and stalls selling clothes, toys and cakes.

The year 6 jazz band, led by teachers Rupert Loader and Kate Simons, performed.

Pam Saker, who chairs the school’s parent-teacher association, said: “Each year group did their own stalls and games, which was brilliant.
