Four hours of festive fun for families at pre-school's fair

Four hours of festive fun for families at pre-school's fair

A CHRISTMAS fair raised £1,800 for Sonning Common Pre-School.

About 200 people attended the event at Sonning Common Primary School in Grove Road.

The money will go towards renovating the pre-school garden. Organiser Viki Head, of Newfield Road, Sonning Common, said: “We’re looking into becoming a forest school and creating learning zones in the garden.  We’ve been fund-raising for it for a couple of years.”

Visitors to the fair could make Christmas decorations and wreaths, decorate biscuits and play games. Children could have their faces painted and meet Father Christmas in his grotto.

Mrs Head, whose three-year-old daughter Olivia attends the pre-school, said: “We made the event four hours long, which made it more relaxed. It’s a safe environment for children and parents.

“We added some new attractions which the children really enjoyed so we were really pleased.”
