Children present portraits to care home residents
CHILDREN made papier-mâché portraits of residents of a Henley care home.

The project was part of art classes for the 15 year five pupils at St Mary’s School in St Andrew’s Road.

They visited Acacia Lodge several times during the autumn term to photograph and sketch pencil portraits of their subjects.

Back in the classroom, they built up three-dimensional models of the pensioners’ faces using paper and glue.

The children “dressed” their subjects with real fabrics and used coloured wool for their hair. Some added buttons to their clothes or used wire to create spectacles.
