Rider celebrates success at NEC

AMY ALLEN of South Stoke is celebrating her recent success at the Horse Of The Year show at the NEC

AMY ALLEN of South Stoke is celebrating her recent success at the Horse Of The Year show at the NEC in Birmingham.

Amy, 11, was placed seventh in her class — 128cm riding show pony — with her pony Pennyroyal Little Brown Sugar at the competition on October 12.

Her mum, Sue, said: “The show was amazing. Amy rode her socks off and delivered the most perfect show. This was no mean achievement since Amy was the youngest you can be to enter the class and was riding against children two years older than herself. She said the best thing about the day was riding to the Horse Of The Year Show music in the lap of honour — a treat most riders aspire to.”

Amy, who attends Langtree School in Woodcote, received a sash and rosette and was aiming to talk about her success at assembly this week. She hopes to take part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
