Sessions will teach children how to cook

IF you’re looking for something a bit different for your child to do over the summer holidays, the Smart Raspberry Cookery School may just have the answer.

The school has announced that it will be running weekly workshops at Shiplake Memorial Hall on Fridays throughout the summer break.

Managing director Alicia Cronin said: “The workshops are suitable for children aged six to 15 years. All ingredients, cooking equipment and packaging are included. The cost of the workshops is £30 for half a day and £50 for a full day.

“We are offering 10 per cent off for early booking if you book before July 20. But please note that this is not applicable to siblings as they receive a sibling discount.”

The dates and times of the sessions — and the dishes due to be cooked on them — are as follows:



Friday, July 31

10am to 12.30pm: Scotch eggs and picnic couronne

1.30pm to 4pm: Salad jars and cherry and white chocolate muffins

Friday, August 7

10am to 12.30pm: Flavoured tagliatelle and ravioli

1.30pm to 4pm: Strawberry tartlets and summer fruit pudding

Friday, August 14

10am to 12.30pm: Lime and mint chicken kebabs and flat breads

1.30pm to 4pm: Spicy corn on the cob, potato salad and flapjacks

Friday, August 21

10am to 12.30pm: Sausage rolls, mini-quiche

1.30pm to 4pm: Raspberry jam and scones

Friday, August 28

10am to 12.30pm: Sticky drumsticks and Stromboli

1.30pm to 4pm: Viennese fingers and custard tarts
