Members of Henley Swimming Cub proved themselves once again at the ??? held at ??? on Saturday, June 11. Nerves were high, the races were fast but the swimmers gave 100 per cent effort with smiles all round. A special mention to Abbie Simpson, 14, Harrison Bell, 11, Charlie Shaw, 12, Anais Buche, 12, and Kimi Buche, 11, who took part in open age events, which are usually the preserve of over-16s and also include adults. Head coach Sarah Williams said she was constantly impressed by the children’s attitude and efforts to do well not just for themselves but for the whole team. Parent Gillian Caveen said: “There were a few nervous faces but their nerves were overcome and everyone put in 100 per cent effort.” Julia Smith said: “They all have a fantastic attitude and are always smiling and having fun.”
