Henley return from Nottinghamshire laden with medals

THE Henley Synchronised Swimming Club had a successful weekend at the 22nd Robin Hood competition in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, where they medalled in three out of four entries, including a gold in the team event.
The competition opened with the U10 duet of Eleanor Whittle and Charlotte Jones being awarded rosettes for their routine to music from the Great British Bake-Off.
Henley’s U12 pair of Alexandra Turner and Amelia Jones followed with their duet to music from Bugsy Malone and were awarded the silver medal. Both duet routines were choreographed by Mikki Bennett. Poppy Gray and Stephanie Ridge took the silver with their U17 duet while the U15, U16 and U17 team of Anne Goettsch, Cara Williams, Harriet Parfitt, Marion Burnichon, Millie Edwards, Poppy Gray, Rosalia Scozzafava, Stephanie Ridge and Sydney Bautista, choreographed by Karen Bennett, won gold with their best swim this year. They were more than two points clear of second place with their routine using music from the film Bring it On!
The U13/U14 team of Alina Budden, Catherine Shearman, Chelsea Holliday, Courtney Moorhouse, Elizabeth Livesey, Hannah Craig, Holly Harrison, Louise Griffin and Victoria Taylor just missed the bronze, by 0.33 points, with their routine to the music from Back To The Future, choreographed by Emma Hobson.
The final duet pairing of Gray and Ridge took the silver with their duet choreographed by themselves, using music taken from Bruce Almighty.
