Miles-Thomas and Wright battled back and edged the second set tiebreak 8-6 after saving four set points. At the half way stage Henley were trailing 2-1 on sets won. In the second rubber, Tamplin’s relentless backhands from the baseline and Davies’s experience at the net proved crucial as the pair won 6-3, 6-4.
Miles-Thomas and Wright knew a two-set win would steer their side to victory. Miles-Thomas’s forehand winners down the line were proving effective alongside Wright’s return of serve as the duo comfortably won 6-3, 6-3 to give their side an overall 5-3 win.
