Henley living bringing calm to comedian Brand

RUSSELL BRAND says he is enjoying a quieter, more stable life in the country.

RUSSELL BRAND says he is enjoying a quieter, more stable life in the country.

The 41-year-old comedian moved to a house near Henley last year with his fiancée Laura Gallagher, 27, and the couple are expecting a baby any day.

Brand appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV on Saturday night and told the host he now lived a “quiet, rural life” before presenting him with a small potato that he had “farmed” in his garden.

Ross said: “It’s about the smallest potato I’ve ever been given!”

Brand replied: “How dare you — I tried my hardest!”

The expectant father also joked that he would raise his child as “gender neutral”.

He said: “I’ve painted the room, I’ve done all the things you’re supposed to do. I’ve accepted the idea that person will be more important than me.

“Jesus Three I’m thinking of calling him, or her, we don’t know the gender. I may not even ever impose a gender upon it, let the child grow up and be the whatever the hell it is.”

The notorious Lothario also said he had put his wild days behind him.

He told Ross: “Well, some of that is because I’m in a monogamous relationship now so I’m a lot calmer. I like it as a matter of fact.

“I live a quiet, rural life now out in the country. I read a different book every week and I read one on preparation for fatherhood to mentally prepare me for it.”

Brand also revealed that Donald Trump had been “really rude” to him. He described the US presidential candidate as a “wanton baby”, adding: “I think if we’re really nice to him he’ll settle down. He seems sweet and really silly.”
