Kenton goes comic mad

AFTER the success of its sell-out Punt And Dennis show at the end of last year the Kenton Theatre is putting on two top-notch comedy nights this season, writes Lesley Potter.

The first, Miles Jupp has made regular appearances on TV shows such as Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week. The actor, writer and comedian is making a return to stand-up with this show, in which he will be discussing himself, domestic imprisonment and fatherhood, among other subjects. His show is at the Kenton on Saturday, February 8.

Sean Hughes is also back on tour with his show Penguins which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show ventures back to his childhood in Dublin and the awkwardness of teenage life.

As an actor Hughes has starred in many TV shows including The Last Detective and Coronation Street. He has also appeared on the West End stage with Sienna Miller in As You Like It. He comes to the Kenton on Friday, April 25.
