Theatre boom

THE Kenton Theatre in Henley had a record 40,000 visitors over the last year.

The total was more 15 per cent up on the previous year and included 3,000 tickets sold for the theatre’s second professional pantomime, Aladdin, in December.

Edward Simons, who chairs the theatre trustees, said: “We are going from strength to strength. This will enable us to increase the number and, hopefully, quality of the shows.”
