Beauty, the beast and a pair of very happy snippers
THE beast is given a makeover by a pair of comedy hairdressers in a re-telling of a fairytale classic by the Wargrave Theatre Workshop this weekend, writes Jamie Presland.
Beauty And The Beast, this year’s panto by the theatre group, got underway yesterday (Thursday) and will run until Sunday night.
It tells the story of a prince who is transformed into a monster and banished to a French castle.
His only chance of becoming human again is to find true love. The pantomime stars 17-year-old Rhianna Inman as Belle and Clive Dow as the Beast. The pantomime dame, Madame Fifi, will be played by Michael Simpson.
Director Linda Daman said: “I directed the pantomime last year when we did Dick Whittington and I wanted this year to be a completely different story.
