DESPITE a high-flying career as a corporate lawyer, Susan Calman simply couldn’t ignore her comedy calling.
On the strength of six months’ experience, Susan recklessly, she admits, resigned from her job and set about making her dreams come true.
She said: “I always wanted to be a comedian but when I left school in 1992 that was not something you said because stand-up had fallen a bit out of fashion, there was not a lot of it on TV. In Glasgow there was only one comedy club so it was not something I thought I could do.
“It was after my 30th birthday I thought if I don’t do it now I’m never going to do this so I did the first five minutes of a gig and six months later I resigned.
“I did not want to be unhappy any longer and comedy made me very happy so I decided to go for it.
