Cabaret star is true fan of Andrews

A FUNNY and uplifting dedication to the life and music of Julie Andrews comes to the Kenton Theatre in June.

Julie Madly Deeply is performed by Sarah Louise Young, a professional actress who has been devoted to Julie Andrews since she was a child.

The show explores the life and music of the British star best known and loved all over the world as Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music and the magical nanny in Disney’s classic blockbuster movie Mary Poppins.

The cabaret celebrates the legendary entertainer’s life, her songs, her exquisite elocution, her cheerful Britishness, and her absolute professionalism.

It includes many of Julie Andrews’ famous songs from the musicals, including Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady, interwoven with some interesting facts and asides about her life — from her beginnings as a child star to the recent challenges of losing her famous singing voice. This cheeky but affectionate cabaret was a popular hit at Trafalgar Studios in London’s West End theatre district, where it received four-star reviews from critics from the Times, Telegraph, Daily Mail and Evening Standard.
