THRILLER The Angry Brigade marks Paines Plough’s return to the Oxford Playhouse this month.
The production, based on real events, is staged during the 30th anniversary year since the Angry Brigade trial. It follows the story of an uprising, in response to Tory cuts, high unemployment and the deregulated economy of Seventies Britain. The guerilla group set their sights on MPs, embassies, police, any established order, and a specialist police squad is formed to hunt the anarchists down.
Written by James Graham, who enjoyed West End success with Privacy, and directed by James Grieve, the play runs from October 8 to 11.
