Review: Tribute rockers rock the Windsor stage

Review: Tribute rockers rock the Windsor stage
THIS was one of three evenings of rock ‘n’ roll at the Theatre Royal in Windsor this week, and it certainly had us bopping in our seats.

For one night only, Elvis Presley was most certainly “back in the building”. Played by AJ Dean, the famous pelvis was in full swing. Songs included All Shook Up and King Creole.

In my opinion, the star of the night was Ed Handoll who played Buddy Holly. He had the look, the voice, and all the mannerisms to play Buddy perfectly. He played the guitar himself, and you could clearly see he was having a ball up on the stage.

Ed has a huge musical theatre background, having played Buddy in the Buddy Holly Story tour of the UK and Scandinavia, and he has just finished in Our House, the Madness musical.

He’s also been in Rent and South Pacific, as well as reaching the top 20 finalists for the ITV1 talent show search for Jesus Christ Superstar. Much to be proud of, seeing as originally he read engineering at university and later switched to an MA in musical theatre.
