A TRIBUTE show featuring music from the film Dirty Dancing comes the Wycombe Swan on September 7.

An Evening of Dirty Dancing: The Tribute Show is a revamped production with a new cast. The show is a fully choreographed celebration of the music from the iconic movie.

The show is directed by Paul Spicer, who has previously worked on Avenue Q, The Last 5 Years and Taboo with choreography by Leanne Harwood, whose credits include Mamma Mia! and Footloose.

Mr Spicer said: “Dirty Dancing boasts the greatest movie soundtrack of all time and all the hits are here, superbly performed, in this fast-moving, slickly choreographed theatrical treat.”

Songs include Big Girls Don’t Cry, Do You Love Me, Hungry Eyes and, of course, the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life. Leading the cast is actor Matt Firth. Originally from Leeds, Matt attended the British version of the Fame school, which spawned many well known celebrity performers such as Spice Girl Mel B. Matt went on to appear in West End musicals including Fame and the Rod Stewart musical Tonight’s The Night.

Mr Spicer added: “The atmosphere is always electric. There’s something about this soundtrack that ignites even the dullest of days. The music is so uplifting and we give it a fresh twist, a new slant. We totally encourage our audience to get up and dance and sing and immerse themselves in the summer of ’63”.

The production, which is not affiliated with Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story, plays onSaturday, September 7 at 7.30pm at the Wycombe Swan. Tickets are £18.50, with £2 off for concessions.
