SET against the backdrop of the Cold War, Chess The Musical focuses on an American and a Soviet grandmaster who fight not just on the board but also for a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other.

As East meets West on the chess board the question is who will win the ultimate battle, the arrogant American or the intense Russian champion who plans to defect?

But is the game of chess really what is being played in the politically driven, Cold War era, or are they merely pawns in a bigger game?

Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead Theatre company returns to Theatre Royal Windsor from Tuesday to Saturday and will take you on a journey from Bangkok to Budapest, with the players, lovers, politicians and spies all struggling to get the upper hand.

With lyrics by Tim Rice and music by the ABBA team of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, featuring well–known tunes including One Night in Bangkok and I Know Him So Well, this is your chance to enjoy an amateur production of what is a perennial favourite with musical theatre fans.

Tickets are available priced £13 to £35 from 01753 853888 or on www.theatreroyalwindsor.co.uk
