MONTY Python member Michael Palin has put words in the mouths of Chiltern Players for their latest production.

The Weekend is a comedy which premiered in the Nineties in the West End and tells the tale of a dysfunctional family.

The irritable and difficult Stephen Pebble does everything to forestall a visit from his daughter, her dreary husband and precocious child, but his blood pressure soon rises when his neighbours and an uninvited guest turn up to join an unwanted dinner party.

Performances take place at Peppard Memorial Hall, Peppard Common, at 8pm from Thursday to Saturday, April 23 to 25. Tickets cost £7 and are available by calling 0118 972 2632, from Occasions in Sonning Common and on the door.
