INTRIGUING details of Woodcote Amateur Dramatic Society’s autumn production have been announced.

Written by Bettine Manktelow,

Murder Weekend
is billed as a “comedy thriller” and “ideal for family entertainment”.

It is showing at Woodcote Village Hall from Thursday, October 8, to Saturday, October 10, starting at 7.45pm each night.

Livia is a frivolous romantic writer who hasn’t written a word for nine months.

Stan is her dreary husband, who’s trying to finish a 500-page report for his job in waste disposal.

Together, they arrive at an idyllic countryside hotel for a “Murder Mystery” weekend, carrying with them the baggage of their failing marriage. However, they are unexpectedly joined by Patsy and her husband Ashley, Livia’s old lover, along with a whole host of colourful guests — each having an agenda of their own.

The mystery really begins when everyone receives their anonymous “Murder Mystery” envelopes, and someone has left extra notes for Patsy and Stan.

Next, Shelley the chambermaid mysteriously disappears, and suddenly suspicion deepens when the guests don’t know if they’re playing a game, or dealing with a real life murderer...

Tickets for the production are priced £7.50, available from www.woodcotedrama. co.uk or by calling the box office on (01491) 680573.
