TWO extra shows have been added to this year’s pantomime run at the Kenton Theatre
TWO extra shows have been added to this year’s pantomime run at the Kenton Theatre in Henley due to public demand.
There will now be 22 shows of Jack and the Beanstalk with box office sales up 30 per cent on last year and several shows almost sold out.
Ed Simons, who chairs the theatre’s trustees, said: “The demand we have had for tickets has meant that we should increase last year’s run of 17 almost sold-out shows to 20. But now we feel that we have the demand to increase by two more shows.
“Our capacity is 241 seats and we have got several shows now that have more than 200 seats sold and more than half of the shows have sold in excess of 150 seats. The cast and the production team are very pleased to put on a couple more shows.”
Mr Simons said the costumes and performances during rehearsals have been “stunning”, adding: “We will have as good a panto as you will find anywhere else in the UK.”
He said that after two previous record-breaking pantomimes at the Kenton, staging a professional production has turned into a tradition. “People are coming back again and again,” he said.
The two extra shows will be staged at 5.30pm on December 20 and 21. For tickets, call the box office on (01491) 575698 or visit www.kentontheatre.co.uk
