A MERRY New Year is in store for comedy fans at the Oxford Playhouse — with three of the country’s top comics lined up to play the Beaumont Street venue in the space of a week.
Hailed as the comedians’ comedian, Stewart Lee will be performing his acclaimed show
A Room With a Stew on Friday, January 15.
The following night it is the turn of panel show regular Katherine Ryan — widely regarded as one of the most exciting comic talents in the country.
Her recent TV credits include
Live at the Apollo,
Mock the Week,
Eight Out of Ten Cats. Named after her Twitter handle, Ryan’s
Kathbum show is also coming to the Concert Hall in Blagrave Street, Reading, on Friday, January 22.
Back in Oxford, Josh Widdicombe will be at the Playhouse on Thursday, January 21, and Friday, January 22, with his new show
What Do I Do Now?
Described as “priceless” by the
Times, Widdicombe’s Channel 4 show
The Last Leg won a Royal Television Society award, having been nominated for many more. His sitcom
Josh recently started on BBC Three.
