Comedian is ‘pay as you laugh’

A COMEDIAN is aiming to kick down the doors of fame and fortune — by playing free gigs

A COMEDIAN is aiming to kick down the doors of fame and fortune — by playing free gigs until he achieves his goal.

Lewis Schaffer is performing at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead tonight (Friday) at 8pm.

Tickets are free, with a voluntary contribution at the end of the show.

Schaffer began his career as a prominent comedian in New York, as house MC at the Comedy Cellar and at the Boston Comedy Club in Greenwich Village.

He moved to London in 2000 and has now made a name for himself on the UK comedy circuit. The transatlantic comic is renowned for his “free until famous” concept — having performed the show nearly 50 times at venues up and down the country.

He doesn’t charge for tickets and asks the audience to make a contribution at the end for what they thought the show was worth.
