Quiz show’s Chaser returns to stand-up

AS all theologians and quiz buffs know, there are sins of omission and sins of commission.

Failing to catch one of the stars of ITV1 quiz show

The Chase
on his first stand-up tour in four years would surely be the former.

Paul “The Sinnerman’ Sinha is bringing his show

Postcards from the Z List
to South Street Arts Centre in Reading on Friday, January 22, and Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead on Friday, January 29.

Best known to teatime TV audiences as one of the five formidable Chasers on the hit show presented by Bradley Walsh, Paul has also been performing stand-up comedy for nearly two decades.

Having started out as a doctor — he is medically qualified — his comedy breakthrough came in 2006 when he was nominated for an if.comeddie award with his second solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Following this he went full-time and in 2014 was voted Best Club Comedian at the prestigious Chortle Awards.

Paul returned to the Edinburgh Fringe in the summer of 2015 following a four-year self-imposed exile during which real life had intervened.

Looking back, he says that life as a single, openly gay comedian travelling the country delivering lefty, liberal jokes was quite straightforward.

Now he has to juggle the responsibilities of being an uncle, being in a relationship for the first time in 20 years, and being that bloke from that quiz, in that poorly-fitting white suit. It’s not easy.

Postcards from the Z List is an adults-only show suitable for 18 years and up.

Tickets for the Reading show are £16 (concessions £14). Call 0118 960 6060 or visit www.readingarts.com. Tickets for Maidenhead are £15 (concessions £13). Call 01628 788997 or visit www.norden.farm to book.
