JUNIOR triathletes from across Henley took part in the first training session of the Henley Junior Triathlon Club on Thursday of last week.
During the session at Henley Leisure Centre, juniors aged 11 to 16 ran their triathlon race distance, practised endurance cycling on Turbo Trainers, and challenged themselves with circuit training.
Tri Henley was established over the summer by former local scout leaders, who themselves compete in triathlons and marathons.
Affiliated to Triathlon England, the club has quickly attracted a number of sporty parents with children keen to build skills and stamina in swim, biking and running.
During training parents act as pace-makers and route marshals, whilst director, Michael Warner and club welfare officer, Ian Lankshear, coach the club members in run, bike and transition techniques.
