Henley juniors shine

MEMBERS of Henley Junior Triathlon Club fought off howling winds and heavy rain to secure vital British Triathlon qualification points in Bicester.

All 21 participants representing the club battled through wet grass and heavy mud to complete the course.

For more than half of these members, it was the first full distance, high performance event they have taken on. Up for grabs were points which count towards possible selection for the regional team and entry to the Inter-Regional Championships.

Convincing performances came from Saoirse McClure-Fisher (third, Under-14 girls), Hugo Warner (fourth, U14 boys), Ben Doyle (fifth, U12 boys) and Tristan Flowers, who ran the fastest leg for the U12 boys.
