THE brand new Savills–sponsored three–stage, three–day triathlon taking place in the heart of our town next week is going to be a major event!

Running from Friday, June 5, to Sunday, June 7, Henley Highwayman is aimed at a wide spectrum of the public and is strongly linked to its idyllic location here in Henley — challenging a range of competitors to swim, cycle and run over the course of the three days.

Organiser Jeremy Laming said: “Triathlon can be perceived as an elite activity pitched to a single, highly committed market but, in recent years, alongside its individual elements, it has secured massive increases in volume of participation and in its breadth of uptake. We believe Henley Highwayman has broad appeal satisfying all levels of competition.”

Julia Cooke, Savills’ regional press manager, said: “Our Henley office is gearing up for this newly formed and exciting three–day multi–sport event. As the principal sponsor, three of our Savills Henley team members will be taking part. Sales director Nick Warner, lettings manager Richard Maby, and associate director Alison Bird are all taking to the water on Friday night to participate in the swim and will then continue on Saturday with the scenic bike discipline. Alison will complete the full triathlon with a run from Market Place towards Fawley on the Sunday, in what will be the final leg of the challenge.

“We would be delighted to see any of our clients and their families at the event to enjoy the scenery and join in the fun family atmosphere.”
