HENLEY Junior Triathlon Club secured three first place finishes and a third spot at the Hillingdon
HENLEY Junior Triathlon Club secured three first place finishes and a third spot at the Hillingdon Duathlon last Sunday.
The club fielded a strong team of 20 triathletes in the run-bike-run event, from a field of almost 200 competitors.
Taking place at the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit in North London, the course is a 1.5km closed hard-surface cycle track, with both long fast stretches and challenging tight corners. The annual duathlon marks the last inter-club event of the triathlon season. In strong head-winds and wet conditions, Adam Hunt of Tri Henley placed first for U12 boys in a time of 20 minutes 29 seconds, Saoirse McClure Fisher first for U14 girls in 28 minutes 30 seconds, Isobel Barnett third for U14 girls in 29 minutes five seconds and Daisy Butterworth first for youth girls in 25 minutes 26 seconds.
Other notable Tri Henley performances came from U12 boys Oliver Doyle and Ed Bindoff.
