AT 10am on Tuesday two lorries were in collision on Conways Bridge, blocking the A321 Wargrave road for one-and-a-half hours. The traffic was diverted down Kenton Lane to Remenham while the road was cleared. Neither of the drivers was injured despite the damage done to the two lorries. The Leyland lorry driven by Alan Rockbank, of Blinks Road, Reading, had damage to both sides and the streering while the Commer driven by Peter James Brain, of Shipton Cherwell, Kidlington, had a damaged off-side.

On Thursday evening of last week, Mr B C Coleman’s house in Digberry Lane, Nettlebed, was entered by means of an insecure first-floor window and ransacked. Valuables worth £1,400 were stolen. The police would like to hear from anybody who saw anybody or anything suspicious.

On Saturday evening a three-ton boat, owned by a Mr Dudeney, was being taken to Hurley when it slipped from its trailer and toppled over onto the road in Hart Street. The road was blocked for an hour and traffic had to be diverted.
