A MOTHER told this week of the ?nightmare? moment when her baby son?s pram rolled into the icy waters of the River Thames in Henley. In a freak accident, she had let go of the pram momentarily to stop her dog jumping in the river but when it went in she jumped straight into the water and pulled it to the surface.

Battling granny Sue Summerfield has said the decision to drop the controversial parking company operating at Reading station was a ?victory for common sense.? Mrs Summerfield was one of hundreds of motorists to be sent £100 demands from Observice Parking Consultancy after stopping on the slip road by the station for just a few seconds to let passengers out.

Flocks of rare waxwings have flown into Henley from the frozen north ? for the berries. The cold weather has meant they are having to look further afield for winter food supplies. The starling-sized birds, easily recognisable by their attractive crests, can be seen eating berries all round the town, including in Waitrose car park and Reading Road.
