HENLEY MP Boris Johnson was tabloid fodder again this week after he was accused of cheating on his wife for a second time — but the people of Henley are backing him. In an on-street survey undertaken by the Henley Standard, all 16 people asked said the scandal should not damage him as an MP or as Tory higher education spokesman. The 41-year-old father of four is reported to have had an affair with 29-year-old journalist Anna Fazackerley, just two years after having an affair with a Spectator magazine columnist.

Train bosses have re-instated the Shiplake and Wargrave stops that were cut from their draft December timetable following an outcry from commuters and politicians. The draft proposed running six trains a day through the villages without stopping.

A mother is calling for action to make a Henley zebra crossing safer after she was nearly knocked over last week. Joanna McDonagh, 28, of Noble Road, said she feared for the safety of her children when they use the crossing from the YMCA estate to the pavement between the Jet garage and Tesco. Drivers fail to stop to let pedestrians cross and travel too fast, she said.
