Bin dates changed

WASTE collection dates in South Oxfordshire will be later than usual due to the Christmas holiday.

The district council says that rubbish scheduled to be collected on Boxing Day (Monday) will now be collected on Wednesday, December 28 instead.

The collections due on December 27, 28, 29 and 30 will be moved to December 29, 30 and 31 and January 3 respectively. These will all be for food waste, rubbish and small electrical items.

There are no brown bin garden waste collections over the festive period with the next collection due on January 16.

Meanwhile, Christmas tree shredding will take place at Mill Meadows in Henley from 10am to noon on January 7. This will be done by Henley town council’s parks services team and will cost £2 with the donation going to Henley in Bloom.

Trees can be also be recycled at the car parks at Mapledurham playing fields in Caversham and Clayfield Copse in Emmer Green from January 2 to 17.
