
ABIGAIL FRANCE won two gold medals as she helped Thames Valley Gymnastics Club win 11 medals at the Oxfordshire individual apparatus competition held in Abingdon.
Eleven girls from the Sonning Common-based club took part in the competition in which they also picked up a trophy for the most outstanding performance on bars throughout the day.
The girls, ranging from ages eight to 14 and from level five up to level three, each competed on two pieces which included the beam, the floor, the vault and the asymmetric bars.
Medals were awarded to the following gymnasts:
Gold: Alice France, bars, level 3, in age; Abigal France, floor, level 4, senior out of age and beam, level 4, senior out of age; Bianca Buencamino, beam, level 4, junior out of age; May Davis, bars, level 5, junior out of age
Silver: Alice France, beam, level 3, in age; Chloe Oswald, vault, level 3, senior out of age; Maisie Palmer, beam, level 4, junior out of age.
Bronze: Megan Powell, floor, level 5, junior out of age and vault, level 5, junior out of age; May Davis, beam, level 5, junior out of age
A special achievement award was presented to Alice France on the asymmetric bars.
