SHIPLAKE COLLEGE’S Max Chandler has been selected for a South West England U16 squad trial following his two impressive performances for Oxfordshire U16s.
Chandler has played as prop for Oxfordshire but has picked up experience playing number eight as well. He also captains Shiplake College’s U16A team but has shown his versatility and broad appreciation of the game by also playing at flanker for the College’s first team.
Andy Dix, Chandler’s coach for Shiplake, said: “Max has lead from the front and is a well respected captain. He has demonstrated that he has good handling skills and often picks good lines in attack too.”
If Chandler is successful at the trial day this will lead on to a divisional training camp in February where the South West play games versus the North, South East and London as well as the Midlands.
