ROTHERFIELD UNITED got their New Year off to a flying start as they won their first John Dell Senior Division match of the season at THEALE.

A goal by Jordan Cuthbert after eight minutes and a second by substitute Daniel Szutenburg after 70 minutes wrapped up the three points for United in their 2-1 win.

GORING UNITED’S Premier Division promotion hopes took a knock after they went down 2-1 away to WOODLEY TOWN RESERVES. United took the lead in the first half through a Jonathan Day goal but Woodley hit back in the second half with two goals. Division 1 basement side WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES secured their first league win of the season as they triumphed 1-0 at WARGRAVE. Earlier in the season Wargrave had won 11-0 at Woodcote.

Richard Ashton scored the decisive goal, firing home the winner five minutes from time.

Two goals in the first 20 minutes were enough to give TWYFORD AND RUSCOMBE all the points in a 2-0 win at GORING UNITED RESERVES in Division 2.
